Celebrating during a pandemic that has negatively impacted so many, could seem displaced. But in a time of loss, we want to do nothing but support our community and applaud your role in our ability to celebrate our 24th anniversary this year. Because in the tough times – let’s find reasons to celebrate one another and find solutions for a better tomorrow. So today, we say thank you for your role in our success and want to highlight some of our favorite partners and awards from over the years.
Storm Smart was founded on August 5, 1996, out of a desire to protect lives and property in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties from damaging and life-altering weather events. Over the last 24 years, Executive Chairman & Founder Brian Rist has committed himself to provide the best and highest-quality storm-protection technology after personally experiencing the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew in 1992 up close while living on Florida’s east coast. Upon moving to Lee County, he started Storm Smart and created the first prototypes of the company’s signature product line — the innovative Storm Catcher® screens. Since then, Storm Smart has continued building on the legacy of quality products to keep us all safe during the Southwest Florida hurricane season!

Our Accomplishments Are Because of You!
Currently, within the Smart Companies brand, we are employing over 200 people. It is our people and those we interact within the community that makes the difference and have led us to where we are today. Our focus is not only on growing the company but growing our community. Our Executive Chairman Brian Rist has dedicated his energy towards entrepreneurship, teaching others how to be successful and leading by example to teach the importance of giving back millions of dollars through his regular philanthropic endeavors across Southwest Florida and beyond. Some of this also includes starting Storm Smarts’ “We Care Program” in an effort to have a specific avenue within the company for philanthropic efforts. For more information on the We Care program, please visit https://www.stormsmart.com/about/we-care-program/.
Over the last 24 years, the company has celebrated many great milestones and awards including being a five-time winner on the Inc. 500’s 5000 “Fast Growing Privately Held Business” list, SBDC’s “Innovator of the Year” and “Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year” awards, the Small Business Association’s “Small Business of the Year” award and the Governor’s “Ambassador Award,” among many others. We are very proud of our accomplishments and humbled to receive such generous recognition from the community we love. At the end of the day, we thank and celebrate our community for the 24 years we’ve been a part of it.
