FORT MYERS, Fla. (Aug. 14, 2019) — Storm Smart has been added to the Inc. 5000 list for the fifth time, joining the likes of world-renowned five-time honorees, such as Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Oracle and Chobani. The international manufacturer placed 2,155 to become one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

This growth is spearheaded by the popularity of Storm Smart’s Storm Catcher® Hurricane Wind Abatement Screen, a prime example of the company’s status as a pioneer of fabric-based storm-protection products. That is coupled with its 23-year stability.

Storm Smart’s revenues have increased by 187% since 2015. Last year, Executive Chairman Brian Rist brought his employee count to more than 200 to meet consumer demand for industry-related products by specialists, especially following Hurricane Irma. He also filled multiple leadership positions, while investing increased revenue in current staff, opening a third location in Southwest Florida and moving the company headquarters from its manufacturing facility for expansion. Currently, Storm Smart is preparing for more demand for hurricane protection products and expansion from North Port to West Palm Beach.

“We attribute our stability to a phenomenal team of multi-field experts and products that create a year-round lifestyle for property owners,” Rist said. “Storm Smart made an Inc. 5000 list of companies with hundreds of billions of dollars in collective revenue, but over the decades, we’ve learned that you cannot put a price on prestige. I’m so grateful for continued recognition and the opportunity to bring our high-quality products and expertise to clients from state to state.”

2019 Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $237.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 1,216,308 jobs over the past three years. Companies were ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2015 to 2018. They were founded and generated revenue by March 31, 2015. Each organization is U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit and independent as of December 31, 2018. The minimum revenue required for 2015 is $100,000, and the minimum revenue for 2018 is $2 million.

As for Storm Smart, this ranking comes just after it placed 173 (up from 212 in 2018) in Business Observer’s Top 500 and 48 in the publication’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies. It also comes during its Collier-Lee Honor Flight philanthropic initiative, which Storm Smart contributed $80,000 to last year.

Now, Storm Smart’s company profile and interactive data by industry, region and more is available on Inc.com/Inc5000. A hard copy of the September issue will be available on Tuesday, August 20th. Storm Smart will also be honored for its ranking in October at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.
