Storm Smart dedicates August to raising money for Honor Flight

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Aug. 9, 2019) — Storm Smart is donating $100 of every storm protection systems and products purchase — valued at $2,500 or more — to Collier-Lee Honor Flight.

This initiative to support the nonprofit that transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials runs through the end of August.

On Friday, August 30, starting at 7 a.m., Storm Smart will host the 2nd annual Tee-Off for Take-Off Golf Tournament at Coral Oaks Golf Course (1800 NW 28th Ave.) in Cape Coral. Proceeds from this foursome scramble event — which includes lunch and an awards ceremony — will further contribute to Collier-Lee Honor Flight.

Storm Smart has been involved with this military-inspired effort for the past three years. In 2018, Executive Chairman Brian Rist and his team raised $80,000 — the estimated cost to fly one plane of veterans to the
nation’s capital.

“A rapidly growing business like Storm Smart has a big, powerful voice. By exercising a voice of that magnitude for more than just sales and revenue, we can be the force that pushes the community out of its comfort zone and
onto a path of bringing positivity to others’ lives.”

"We purchased our Storm Smart hurricane screens last year for peace of mind during hurricane season. Little did we know that we would use them almost every day all year round! They not only offer protection in the event of powerful storms but they provide daily shade in the late afternoon sun as well as rain protection during afternoon showers, allowing us to use our lanai as an integrated outdoor living space. We love them and everyone who sees them, wants them."
