Storm Smart serves as title sponsor for Uncommon Friends Foundation

On Thursday, November 8, Storm Smart was proud to serve as the title sponsor for the Uncommon Friends Foundation’s “Reflections on the River” event held in downtown Fort Myers at the Burroughs Home & Gardens.

This was the second consecutive year that Storm Smart has served as the title sponsor for the annual gala.

During the event, the foundation awarded a number of local students scholarships and named Cypress Lake Middle School teacher Rachel Mas its 2018 Character Education Champion Teacher.

In addition, PBS Contractors received the foundation’s 2018 Business Ethics Awards.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Uncommon Friends Foundation. Over the past quarter century, the organization has dedicated its mission to lifelong character building among today’s youth and business leaders. It strives to inspire future leaders toward excellence of character, a spirit of innovation, and a sense of purpose.

Through character education, business ethics programs, scholarships, and historic preservation of the Burroughs property, the foundation carries on the generational values of Fort Myers businessman Jim Newton and his personal friends, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Dr. Alexis Carrel, and Charles Lindbergh.
